Guide: How to Measure for Precise Garments
With our simple measurement guide, you can ensure your garments fits fine. Follow these steps to take the most important measurements from your favorite garments.
The trousers
Waist Measurement (1)
To measure your waist correctly, use a pair of pants that already fit you well. Lay them flat and measure across the waistband from one side to the other. Double this measurement to get the total waist size.
Outseam Measurement (2)
Take a pair of pants with the ideal length. Measure along the outside of the leg, from the waistband all the way down to the bottom hem.
Inseam Measurement (3)
Lay the pants flat and measure the inside of the leg, from the crotch seam to the bottom of the hem.
The shirts and jackets
Chest Width (4)
Use a shirt that fits you perfectly. Measure straight across the shirt from one armpit to the other. Double this measurement to get the chest width.
Hem Width (5)
For the hem width, measure the bottom edge of the garment from side to side. Then double the measurement.
Sleeve Length (6)
Measure the inside of the sleeve, starting from the armpit down to the end of the cuff.
Garment Length (7)
Lay the garment flat and measure from the shoulder seam down to the bottom edge.
